This page will provide resources for our prospective LEVEL 1 foster families with children placed in their home through the dependency system.

Throughout this page you will find training opportunities and resources for our caregivers raising children through the dependency system. Please scroll to find all training opportunities and resources.

Required Trainings for Level 1 Licensing: Please complete each module below and save/print the certificate for each to submit to your Kinship Specialist

**Required** Foster Parent Training: (go to Foster Parent Training and do modules 1-5):

Module 1:  Introduction

Module 2:  Overview of the Child Welfare System

Module 3:  Expectations and Responsibilities of Caregivers

Module 4:  The Impact of Childhood Trauma and How to Manage Children’s Behaviors

Module 5: First Aid and Medication Administration

Water Safety for Parents and Caregivers

The Water Safety for Parents and Caregivers Online Course focuses on developing an awareness of the risks of drowning and how to minimize those risks, especially for young children. This online course teaches parents and caregivers about the concepts of the circle of drowning prevention, water competency and the chain of drowning survival. It also provides guidance for applying water safety to common environments and situations where children are most at risk for drowning.
