Adoption: Congratulations Smith Family

Shannon Smith received a phone call from the hospital. Her sister had given birth to a premature baby boy. After he spent 6 weeks in care, the hospital staff told the mother that the baby needed to be picked up or he would be placed in foster care. That’s when Shannon got the call.

Shannon Smith is the oldest of 4, she is the mother of 2 adult children, and the grandmother of 3 very young grandchildren. It’s hard to believe that she ‘never had a burning desire’ to have children, but God had another plan. Fast forward 3 years: Shannon has raised her sister’s son, Devin and was about to legally adopt him.

Shannon, along with 10 other families, 10 other children, many family members and her mom by her side officially adopted Devin on National Adoption Day!
