May is National Foster Care Month: Introducing Kelly Harrison, C1 Foster Mom

 During the month of May, we have reached out to our system partners to shine a spotlight on the incredible foster moms throughout our region. May is not only Foster Care Awareness Month, but also the month we celebrate mothers. 

Foster moms hold a special place in our hearts for the profound impact they have on the lives of children, and we feel privileged to dedicate this month to honor and appreciate them. 

We would like to introduce you to foster mom Kelly Harrison who was recognized by a system partner.

Kelly currently has three children placed in her care. When she took the third child, she was only anticipating it to be short term. She was only planning to give her a fun weekend full of swimming, shopping to get a new swim suit and gifting her a welcome bag with essentials to get her started. The plans quickly changed when Kelly contacted and said “I love her already and want her to stay more than just a weekend!” We had the opportunity to see her interact with the child at a meeting and she treated her as her own and shows her love and compassion.

Kelly is an amazing foster mom!
