March is National Social Work Month: Andrea Ziglar

Mar Wed, 2023, See more: Staff Spotlight

Meet Andrea Ziglar. Andrea earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. “My first job after receiving my Bachelor’s was in dependency case management. Being in the field for several years developed my passion for the work and the mindset that social work presents.” Andrea decided to go back to school (Florida State University) for her Master’s in Social Work. She has worked for almost 16 years in Social Work.

Andrea is the Program Manager for Bay County Case Management. She provides support to Dependency Case Managers, supervisors with programmatic issues, assists in managing cases, and with employee retention. Her favorite part of her job is seeing the case managers excited about a success they had on a case. One of her greatest strengths in her role is the ability to explore all sides of an issue in order to come to an agreeable solution. Andrea is a creative thinker with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field. She is compassionate about recognizing both individual and team sucessess. She offers support and guidance and makes sure she is available to them.

“Work-life balance sometimes feels like a myth but I do believe in self-care even if it’s something small you can implement.”  When Andrea isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family, crafting and reading!

Andrea’s best advice she can give as a social worker is to “celebrate small success that you are a part of.”

Thank you, Andrea. NWF Health values your meaningful contributions to our agency.
