March is National Social Work Month: Rachel Bassett
Meet Rachel Bassett. RacheI grew up in Wisconsin and moved to Florida in middle school. She graduated from Forest High School in Ocala, Florida. She went on to pursue and earn a Bachelor Degree in Child and Family Studies from Western Carolina University in 1999. Rachel earned a Masters in Social Work, 20 years later in 2019 from Florida State University.
“I have been very blessed in my life and have an amazing husband and a healthy, smart and talented 14 year old son. I have worked with Northwest Florida Health Network, formally Big Bend Community Based Care since 2006. I have had an array of positions from Placement, Intake, Supervision roles, Early Childhood Court Community Coordinator and I’m currently working as the Kinship Program Manager. I have loved my time with this agency as it has provided numerous opportunities to serve and work with families in the community and this is my heart and passion! I have also had the privilege of growing professionally with some excellent guidance and leadership within the agency. I am grateful to be a Social Worker and blessed to have the opportunity to work at NWF Health where I have the opportunity to work with and serve families daily!”
