Social Work Appreciation Month: Rachel Bassett
Meet Rachel Bassett. Rachel earned her Masters in Social Work from Florida State University. She is the Manager of the Kinship Program in Circuits 2 and 14. Rachel said she “wanted to become a social worker to support people, however this may look!”
Rachel works with a team of dedicated staff that completes the level 1 licensing process. There are two teams in circuit 2 and Circuit 14. Level 1 is a level of foster care to support relative and non-relative caregivers that have taken unexpected placements of foster children that have come to them through DCF and the court process. They have not had the opportunity to prepare their homes in advance and our team goes in and assists these families with the licensing process. Rachel is very grateful for all our level 1 families!
When Rachel isn’t working at NWF, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son. They enjoy fishing, gardening, canning and more. She loves dogs and especially her Springer Spaniels!
Thank you, Rachel. We appreciate your hard work and passion to serve the children and families in our community.
