Social Work Appreciation Month: Ruth Oliver
Meet Ruth Oliver. Ruth received her degree in Social Work at Florida State University in 1980. She has wanted to be a social worker since she was a teenager and worked as a volunteer with the Redland Migrant Association in Homestead, Florida.
Ruth is NWFHN’s Data systems Training Coordinator, and one of our Agency Security officers. Ruth assists staff in using and navigating FSFN (Florida Safe Families Network) system. FSFN serves as the statewide electronic case record for all child abuse investigations and case management activities in Florida for the Department of Children and Families. Ruth sends out reports to staff to assist them with tracking data on the children we serve.
When Ruth is not working in FSFN, she is spending a lot of time taking care of her mother and acting as her advocate as they navigate the aging process together.
We appreciate all the work you do for NWFHN, Ruth! Thank you!
