Spotlight on the Geus Foster Family
For the past four years, the Geus family has opened their home to be a place of safety, healing, and love for over 30 children. The Geus family cares deeply about helping to strengthen the bonds of birth family members with the children in their care whether they be parents, siblings, or grandparents. They have advocated for children in foster care to receive therapy services in order to bring supports around the children so they can thrive in their uniqueness.
Amy had a career shift last year, and just wrapped up her first year of using her trauma-competent skills and experience as a foster parent to work as a paraprofessional in a public school special education classroom environment. Recently, the Geus family adopted a little boy, who has quickly become an integral and beloved member of the family. Amy & Jeremy also have twin teenagers with a heart to foster who have been helpful on multiple occasions when sibling sets have come into the home for foster care. We are thankful for the family’s contributions to our community!
