Spotlight on the McQueen Parker Foster Family

Jahmadd McQueen and Shantrese Parker began their journey as caregivers in 2022 and have served more than 10 youth in care. The family has established vital connections with system partners and are known to put their best foot forward when it comes to advocating for the needs of the children in the home. They dove head first into partnering with biological families who were reunifying with children and were exemplary to those parents on how to parent their children well. The family has a full plate due to parenting teens, but they continue to be unstoppable. Jahmadd and Shantrese perpetuate an environment of inclusivity and love for travel. They hope to allow kids to simply be kids and gain some momentous memories through travel and other means. The family is extremely resourceful so if you have any questions about sports enrollments or little nuggets within the community they are your go to.

They are reminded often that sometimes the big behaviors come when children feel the safest. Being change makers and advocates are the things they enjoy most about fostering. They hope to give children the love and care they so deserve. They believe strongly in autonomy and hope children can learn to express themselves in healthy and safe ways through their expressions of love and care for them.
