Spotlight on The Thorpe Foster Family

Elizabeth, known as Libby, and Kenneth, called Kenny, have dedicated 25 years to fostering children with great success. Their journey began at their church where they first met. Libby’s involvement with the nursery sparked their interest in helping others. Their initial support for a struggling couple at church ignited a passion for fostering. They went on to meet an elderly couple who had fostered a baby until adoption further inspiring them. Libby’s research into fostering led to the placement of a 9-month-old boy, Michael, who they later adopted.

Today, Michael races cars with Kenny by his side as his mechanic. The family continues to care for babies and nurture relationships with birth parents. The Thorpe family continues to excel at fostering by maintaining strong connections with birth parents and supporting children post-reunification, embodying the spirit of Foster Grandparents.
