Child Welfare Appreciation: Jennifer Guidera, Anchorage Children’s Home

Jennifer Guidera is a passionate Dependency Case Manager with Anchorage Children’s Home. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Child Welfare. Jennifer is driven by her desire to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families.

As a Dependency Case Manager, Jennifer’s primary responsibility is to walk alongside families, connecting them with the necessary service providers and supporting them through court-ordered obligations. She describes herself as a “micromanager,” and ensures that families receive the support they need to navigate their case plans.

Jennifer finds the most rewarding aspect of her role is witnessing the positive interactions between children and their parents, She often plays the role of sole cheerleader for parents, reminding them that they are doing a good job. This affirmation and support can be a vital source of motivation for families facing challenging circumstances.

As a seasoned case manager, Jennifer offers valuable advice to others in her field. She believes that honesty is the best policy when working with families, as it establishes trust and fosters open communication. Additionally, she encourages her colleagues to never give up, even in the face of challenges, as perseverance can lead to positive outcomes.

Jennifer’s dedication and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of families and children make her an exceptional Dependency Case Manager.

Thank you for all you do. We appreciate you, Jennifer!
